Traditional vs Modern
As Karate (including other martial arts) has spread to the West and all around the world after WWII it has changed a lot and also lost some tradition since it has become more modern. Students don't bother about Dojo Etiqutte or train the way they used to in the old days, they care more about their belt level or the good-looking moves/stunts they can do. Modern competitions judge Katas on their looks and not on their techniques or for what they were originally made for. People take the easiest way out and don't want to train hard. Sports science has put Martial Arts to a new level, it has taught us the secrets behind the techniques. Some people still follow Budo and also mix modern training ideas with it to cope with modern day life, because we are always running out of time and are too busy to train.
