Sanchin Ryu students will learn to defend themselves, karate Jitsu (Empty hand art), and Jounai Jitsu ('On the Grounds' art). Sanchin Ryu Bujutsu has come to be from many years of many martial arts (Bujutsu), which aims to provide an effective and contemporary way of self defense, as well as for it to be relevant to New Zealand law.

Sanchin Ryu also draws from the traditional arts as to teach the virtues, qualites and moraltiy of martial arts.

Sanchin Ryu Bujutsu has membership and representation as part of the Internation Koryu Bujutsu society in New Zealand. 

Sanchin Ryu Bujutsu is an affiliated dojo with Fudoshin Ryu Bujutsu.

Students will learn:

Karate Jitsu - Hand to hand defense and Sparring skills

Jounai Jitsu - Graplling self defense

Ai Joumae Jitsu - Control and Restraint defense

Self defence - Single attackers, multiple attackers and armed attackers

Kubudo - Weaponry way
