I could never understand why we evolved into such physically weak creatures (especially given our violent, war-mongering nature) – no armour like Turtles, no super-strength like Gorilla, no super-speed like Cheetah, no super-size like Elephants, no ability to breath water on a planet covered in the stuff, yes a super-brain (alas often un-used) – until now. The only thing I can think of is that we are this weak so we are forced to appreciate how fragile and temporary we are and thus protect what we have through care and exercise. Perhaps it is also the great equaliser, so other species have half-a-chance against us?
